Second Chance Essay free essay sample

Cardona Rosa Mrs. Miranda English 301-048 5 November 2012 Vacation to Disney World I always wanted to take my four daughters to a memorable and unforgettable trip. For years I had planned to travel to Orlando Florida, to one of their magic parks. Magic Kingdom, our first trip, was planned in mind because of how I’ve always dreamed to imagine their smiling faces of joy, and their excitement to know that they were going to Walt Disney World, a place where all dreams come true. At that same moment, I talked to my husband; about my plans, he agreed with me, but the truth is that he took me for granted. As time went by, I didn’t have my husband’s support. I was on my own, so I started planning, and organizing our magical trip to Walt Disney World. Because I had no money, I started by saving from every pay check, for one whole year. After all this was set and done. There was another problem, how were we getting to our destination? That’s why I had to think about saving money, looking for a suitable hotel, and then getting plane tickets for transportation. Without my husband’s support I managed to save money on my own, so I got into a â€Å"tanda†. A tanda is when a group of responsible people, who agree to pitch in twenty dollars on every pay check they get. Then one person from the group gets to take all the money. It then goes all around until each member of the group receives about fifteen hundred dollars. Obviously, I needed more than fifteen hundred dollars to pay for the expenses for five people. I had to use all my resources to succeed my goal. Therefore, I used my tax return, and my savings, from my pay check, plus the tanda money. I had three thousand and eight hundred dollars with me. My vision in my dreams where so close to turning into a reality, for sure I wanted to have enough money with me because, I had to provide my four daughters with their needs. That’s why I paid the hotel for about four weeks before, our trip. Without touching the money, I had saved. Since I didn’t know anything about which hotel was the most convenient, I searched on Google. om. I was looking for one that would be close to Walt Disney World. For sure, I got more than what I was looking for. I found the Holiday Inn express, which was four blocks away from the Walt Disney World amusement parks at downtown Orlando, Florida. On the other hand, there were all different kinds of restaurants around the hotel and a Seven Eleven as a convenience store. It was just perfect because we could just walk to the amusement parks without having to pay for transportation. The Disney buses would take us for free, and the wait was just about thirty minutes. The Disney bus would take us, to any Disney amusement parks, such as the Animal kingdom, the Magic Kingdom, and Epcot. Evidently, the buses helped me cover all my needs, I wanted to pay online, but I was having problems with my computer so I called and reserved one room with two king size beds and one small sleeping sofa, a microwave, a fridge and a small table including Wi-Fi for internet connections. I already had the money and the roof over my daughters head. At this point all I needed was to get to Orlando, Florida. The first idea that crossed my mind was the Greyhound bus, but I discharged the idea because it was going to take longer to get to our destination and with only one week and no time to lose. So I thought of air travel, and chose to take Delta, it only took about an hour and a half to get to our destination. Besides it was going to be our first plane ride and my daughters were excited about a plane ride. I was terrified but knowing that my daughters were happy took a bit of my fright away. As previously stated, I had the money, hotel, and plane tickets in my hand. Obviously, everything came out as I had planned. My daughters are grown young ladies now, but, they still remember the unforgettable trip to Disney World. From time to time they still talked about how they felt as we were on the plane. My daughter Lucero said that it was like if she was going to reach out and grab the clouds and play with them as if they were foam in her hands. For me, that was it, I wasn’t planning any more trips, but if they want to go back; they are old enough to make their own plans, and follow them step by step.
